i do development & UI/UX for games!
here's some maybe cool stuff i've made or helped make:
be careful when seeing my name on places not listed here -- that user probably isn't me!
obligatory about me:
i've been making games since 5th grade. currently, i'm a freshman at university of utah studying software engineering with an emphasis in game design (tl;dr game development but i focus on programming more). in some of my free time, i am also teaching myself user interface & user experience design (UI/UX).
why ui? well, you're in for a long boss monologue now... you don't really have to read it all so tl;dr i think it's really important.
but anyway, something that i've noticed for a while now is that well-made ui will always go unnoticed. why? because good ui is effectively "invisible" to the naked eye. so instead of being confused on how to interact with the game, players can focus on what's important: the gameplay, the environment, the story, and all the art that the rest of the development team poured their hearts and souls into. but if you got some bad ui, players will always complain since it gets in the way of them interacting with the content you've made.
in many ways, you can think of it like an "important background character". normally, nobody cares about that guy. but secretly under the hood, they're the ones keeping the world from blowing up. and if that important background character in question can no longer perform that duty, then that's when people notice... oh wow, the world's being torn apart!Â
...obviously, that's quite the stretch, but it's still accurate in a lot of ways. to be frank, you can build a game all you want. however, ui is still the thing that actually allows the player to interact with whatever you made. without it... well, you're kinda cooked lol
well, i think i've made my point clear enough. you can have the best story, best art, best designs and whatnot in your game. however, if you make it hard for your players to actually interact with the experiences you've created, then all that will go directly to waste. as such, my end goal--help game studios out there create the best ui possible for your games. because you definitely don't want your players to go through this, right?

also if you're wondering why my username sounds like some cringe ahh 2016 gaming youtuber name, it's because i made it up when i was like 2 nanoseconds old and now i'm too lazy to change it
